Rahe Signs Two High School Forwards From Texas
Coach Randy Rahe has inked two players today on the first day of the early singing period for NCAA DI men's basketball. Two Texans in Joel Bolomboy and Kyndahl Hill have signed their National Letters of Intent to join the Wildcat basketball program and will come to WSU in 2012-13.

"We are very excited about Joel and Kyndahl joining our program," Rahe said. "Both kids were our top priorities for over a year, Joel at the power forward position and Kyndahl at small forward. Both kids fit our program perfectly, they have great character, are very good students and love to be in the gym. Joel and Kyndahl both come from excellent high school programs and great coaches with very similar philosophies that we have here at Weber State."

Joel Bolomboy. Bolomboy is a 6'8.5", 210 lb forward from Central High in Keller, Texas. Last season as a junior he averaged 9.9 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 1.1 bpg and 1.3 apg. AAU: Texas Select.

Schools of Interest: Clemson, Colorado, Fresno State, Hartford, IUPUI, Long Island, Louisiana Tech, Missouri State, New Mexico, St. Francis, Texas A&M, Tulsa, UTEP, Washington, Washington State and Weber State.
Offers: Fresno State, Hartford, IUPUI, Long Island, Louisiana Tech, Missouri State, New Mexico, St. Francis, Texas A&M and Weber State.

"Joel is very athletic, runs the court extremely well and is a high level rebounder and shot blocker," Rahe said. "He is a good face up shooter and has really improved his low post game. Joel plays with a lot of energy and with some added strength and weight has the ability to make a strong impact on our program."

Kyndahl Hill, 6'7" 200 lb forward, Humble, Texas. Senior year, 2012 at Humble High. 32 inch vertical leap, 4.7 40-yard dash. Averaged 13 points and 8 rebounds as a junior. Hill was expected to be a standout defensive end and high-major football recruit but has chosen to pursue basketball.

Schools of Interest: Arizona, Arizona State, Evansville, Houston, Lehigh, Long Island, North Texas, Northern Colorado, Pepperdine, Southeastern Louisiana, UT-Arlington, Utah State, UTEP and Weber State.

Offers: Holy Cross, North Texas, Sam Houston State, UT-Arlington and Weber State. He also had football offers from Kansas State, North Texas and UNLV and interest from Arizona, Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, Illinois and Texas.

"At the small forward position we were looking for some size and athleticism, Kyndahl really fits our needs well," Rahe added. "He is a tough competitor, can really shoot it with good range, and is an excellent rebounder. Kyndahl was also a high level football player, now that he is able to concentrate more on improving his basketball skills we are very excited about his potential and what he can become in our program."

ESPN Recruiting rates Loveridge as a 91.

KSL: "I remember when Weber State offered me during my sophomore year, and it was really a bit overwhelming to me at the time," he said. "It was exciting for sure to know that a college program believed in me enough to offer me a scholarship."

Loveridge immediately liked Weber's head coach Randy Rahe and his staff. He's since visited the school often on unofficial visits.

"I really like it up there," he said. "They were the first school to believe in me, and gave me my first offer, so I love that about them. The coaches really have a good thing going up there, and it's a school I'm strongly considering."

High school guard
Shavon Shields, 6'4" 185 lb guard, Olathe, Kansas. Will play senior season, 2012 at Olathe Northwest High. Rated as an 82 by ESPN Recruiting.

Shields has taken unofficials to San Fran and Long Beach and and will take officials during September/October before making a decision.

Strengths:
Shavon is a scorer who can score from all three areas of the floor. His jump shot allows him to stretch the defense out to 22 feet and open up driving lanes. When attacking the basket, Shavon can stop and pop the 15-17 foot jump shot with great elevation and a soft touch on his shot. His size and leaping ability allows him to score over bigger defenders in the paint on drives. If he is cut off when driving to the basket, he likes to spin off the defender to get the angle to the rim.

Weaknesses:
Shavon needs to work on becoming a more consistent defender and play with a greater passion on the defensive end of the floor.

Bottom Line:
Fields is a skilled and versatile wing player who excels when he has the basketball in his hands and is making plays for himself or a teammate.

AAU: MoKan Elite

Offers: Saint Louis, Duquesne, Nebraska, Texas Tech, Yale, Jacksonville, San Francisco, Northern Colorado, Tulsa, Long Beach State, Wisconsin Green-Bay and Weber State.

Turk plays to his strengths as a shooter. Turk has a good shooting technique with the proper amount of arch on his jump shot. He does a good job of shot preparation with knees bent, hands above elbows and feet ready to step in when receives the pass. Turn does a good job of running the wing in transition for lay-up or spotting up for jump shot.
