2008-09 Big Sky Conference MVP 2008-09 Big Sky 1st Team All-Conference  Age: 22 Position: Guard High School: Norman High Junior College: Northern Oklahoma JC Hometown: Norman, OK McCoy 2008-09 Pics Kellen McCoy (5'6", 180) played his senior season at WSU where he was named to the all america team, the conference MVP and all-conference first team selection. McCoy played 31.5 minutes per game and averaged 14.1 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 2.7 apg, 1.3 spg, .809 FT%, .477 FG% & .438 3P%. In the Big Sky regular season he averaged 16.3 ppg and helped guide his team to a 15-1 record. As a junior at WSU he averaged 19.4 minutes per game and averaged 8.8 ppg overall and 10.4 ppg in conference. He shot 77% from the free-throw line and 40% from the 3-point line. He played in all 30 games and had 2 starts. McCoy played 2 seasons of junior college ball at Northern Oklahoma where he averaged 19.5 ppg, 5.5 rebs, & 4.8 assists. Q&A with WeberHoops.com (2008) 1. When was the first time you heard of Weber State? The first time I heard of Weber State was when Coach Linder called me and started to recruit me. 2. How were you recruited? I was recruited by Coach Linder out of junior college; he called me up and now I'm here. 3. Why did you come to Weber State or how did you decide on Weber? I liked the coaches a lot, it's a great program and the players here are the kind of guys I like to put myself around. 4. How do you like Weber State/Ogden/Utah? I like Weber State and Ogden, it's a nice little town, it's a change for me but its cool checking out the mountains every time I walk outside. 5. What is your Major? Communications 6. What do you plan/want to do after you graduate? I want play basketball overseas or somewhere, and once that's done, I'd like to find work in broadcast communications. 7. What is your favorite professional sports team? I don't really a favorite team; my favorite player is Chris Paul so I'd have to say the hornets. 8. Movie? Bad Boys 9. Recording artist? Ne-Yo 10. I'm double jointed in my legs, so on the court you may see some ugly stuff happen with my legs but just don't worry I'll get back up. 11. Nickname(s)?
