James Hajek, Center (2011-13)

Age: 20
Year: Sophomore
Position: Center
High School: Skutt Catholic High
Hometown: Omaha, NE

2012-13

2011-12
Coach Rahe had a lot of height on the team in 2011-12 like he had never had; 3 players on the roster standing 6'10". Hajek would see plenty of opportunities to get minutes as a fresh even with the deep bench at the 4 and 5. It is not possible to have too many bigs in the Big Sky.

Played in 15 games for WSU as a red-shirt freshman before going down with a season ending knee injury at Portland State. He averaged 3.4 ppg and 2.1 rpg. Scored in double figures twice and had a career-high 13 points against Mayville State and 10 points in a 29-point beatdown win over Pac 12 Utah. Career-high for rebounds was 8 against Mayville State. Hajek shot 52% from the field and was 13-15 (87%) from the free throw line.

2010-11
Sat out the season as a red-shirt. The season was well under way before Hajek even turned 18.

High School
Graduated from Skutt at age 17. His team finished second in the state. Hajek is Skutt's all-time leading shot blocker and is the third leading rebounder; he also has the single season rebounds record.

Hajek is pronounced HIGH-EK.
