Darin Mahoney is currently a senior and has been part of back-to-back Big Sky titles and 3 post season appearances (2 NIT, CBI).
Mahoney came to WSU after having completed an LDS mission. Mahoney is one of the greatest shot blockers in Utah high school history. For shot block career stats he is #2 all-time in the state of Utah with 311, for single game blocks he is #7 all-time and for a single season he is #5 all-time. He played on two 3A state championship teams and was the 2004-05 3A MVP. He played in a state title his sophomore, junior and senior years of high school.
He was recruited by BYU, Pepperdine, Southern Utah, Utah, Utah State, Utah Valley and Weber State. Offers: Southern Utah, Utah Valley and Weber State.
2011-12
As a senior Mahoney will help lead his young team as they attempt to win a 3rd Big Sky title in 4 years. Mahoney is the oldest player in the Big Sky Conference and one of the oldest in the nation at age 26.
2010-11
Junior year, played in 31 of 32 games . Stats: 25 mpg, 4 ppg, 5.2 rpg, .450 FG%, .773 FT%, career-high 19 points vs Southern Utah, career-high 9 rebounds at Saint Mary's
2009-10
Sophomore year played in 29 of 31 games, missed Western State and BYU due to injury. Stats: 16.5 mpg, 2.9 ppg, 3.6 rpg, .477 FG%, .714 3P%, .727 FT%, season-high 8 points (3 games) and 8 rebounds vs PSU. Went 5-7 from the 3-point line on the year and made his first college 3 at the half time buzzer against Utah hitting a 30 foot bank shot. Helped WSU to a 13-3 mark and second straight Big Sky regular season championship.
2008-09
Freshman year came off the bench as a backup to Steve Panos and Kyle Bullinger and played in all 31 games. Stats: 15.1 mpg, 2.5 ppg, 3.4 rpg, .492 FG%, .441 FT%, career-high 9 points vs PSU and 9 rebounds vs UC Santa Barabar. Helped WSU to a 15-1 Big Sky record, 2nd best in conference history. Named to Big Sky All-Academic Team.
2007-08
Redshirted his first year at WSU.

A long, long time ago.
2. How were you recruited?
Coach Cravens and Coach Jensen recruited me before my mission.
3. Why did you come to Weber State or how did you decide on Weber?
The coaches were flexible with me going on a mission.
4. How do you like Weber State/Ogden/Utah?
Weber is a great school.
5. What is your Major?
Business Administration
6. What do you plan/want to do after you graduate?
Work for a U.S. company that sends me to Japan occasionally.
7. What is your favorite professional sports team?
Utah Jazz

The 'Burbs.

I have been dunked on by Dwight Howard at a tournament in L.A. a few years ago.
